“There’s no crying in CrossFit”
Well, that rule went right out the window for KP, and quickly.
KP says, “I have found fitness is what you make it. I am a testament to the fact that you don’t have to be strong, thick-skinned, or in-shape to join. But you should know that if you do you will become strong, thick-skinned, and in-shape, and you will love it. I joined to lose the extra 30ish pounds that my undergraduate degree “weekend fun” gave me. What I got out of it was much more. Self-confidence, mood improvement, strength, endurance, passion, and family are what I have gotten out of it (along with some weight loss). There may be tough days, but there is always someone right next to you encouraging you forward, encouraging you to get better, and this is why I love this place.
Sure, I still get frustrated and I cry, but we all have to be a rule-breaker somehow, ya know live on the wild side. But, I know that with Nevermore, there is the community to keep me going. If I had tried to do this stuff on my own in a gym, I would have given up day 2.
It is finally nice to have multiple accountability partners. To know that people are there for my well-being. Every day I push myself physically and mentally, and it can’t get much better than that.”
