Important Info for Open 21.1: Friday Classes, Friday Night Lights & Points!

IT’S ALMOST HERE!  The announcement for Open Workout 21.1 IS ALMOST HERE!

In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the photo clue Dave Castro left us for 21.1 …. any guesses?!

Note: Don’t forget to have at least 5 people on your team attend the Open Livestream Zoom for extra team points, tomorrow night (Thursday). The announcement begins at 8, but the Zoom session will open at 7:45!

Here’s all of the info you need to know for Friday classes and Friday Night Lights for Open workout 21.1 (Friday 3/12/21)! If you don’t want to get towed, I suggest you read everything :).

  • Please note, this info may change weekly. We’ll send you weekly updates that represent the changes / info every week!

FRIDAY CLASS CHANGES / ADDITIONS:

  • This Friday, March 12th, 2021 – we will be opening up the 7:30am OUTDOOR class to 16 people!
    • WHY?: We run the Open workouts in 2 heats, every class – half the class will judge athletes and half the class will do the workout, THEN, you’ll swap spots! This means, at any given moment, only 8 athletes will be working out – even with 16 people in the class.
  • This Friday, March 12th, 2021 – the last class of the day INDOORS will be the 4:30pm class (this isn’t a change, but just specifying!)
  • This Friday, March 12th, 2021 – FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS will begin OUTDOORS at the Mini Turf at 5:30pm!
    • Info to follow!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS & IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION:

  • Friday Night Lights begins at 5:30pm at the Mini Turf (Address: 5731 Cottonworth Ave. Baltimore, MD)!
    • We will be running the Open workout in heats from 5:30pm, until all athletes who pre-registered have been able to do the workout!
    • You MUST pre-register on Push-Press in order to be able to do a workout at Friday Night Lights.
      • If you are coming as a spectator, you DO NOT need to pre-register. Just come, bring food / drinks / chairs / garbage bags / masks (for the bathroom and indoors) high energy & your cheering voices, and be ready to enjoy some FNL fun!
    • Athletes who are on a weekender membership CAN COME DO THE FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS WORKOUT!
  • PARKING:
    • We are NOT ABLE TO PARK IN THE NORMAL LOT, in front of the Coppermine building on Friday nights! Coppermine rents the indoor facility out on Friday nights, and parking is specifically for them.
    • We have to park either:
      • Under the overpass, in the lot that’s there OR In the Church parking lot!
      • DO NOT PARK IN THE MEADOWBROOK SWIM PARKING LOT: You MAY get towed if the owner realizes you are a Coppermine member, and not a Meadowbrook member!

ONCE ANNOUNCED, WHERE DO I FIND THE OPEN WORKOUTS IN CHALK IT PRO!?

  • Chalk It Pro and Level Method will be working together to Level out the announced workout, as soon as it is announced (8pm EST).
  • As soon as they have it completed (usually around 10pm EST), they will input it in Chalk It Pro, and we will be able to access it through a CHiP code!
    • FUN FACT: This ChiP code will also allow you to see where you fall, in your Level, on the OVERALL LEVEL METHOD LEADERBOARD, for ALL Level Method gyms!

Here’s How To Access / Input the CHiP Code in Chalk It Pro: (click for a larger PDF)

JUDGING IN CLASSES & LOGGING YOUR SCORES:

  • In Class:
    • Every class will receive sheets of paper for their judge to track everything they need in the workout (your name, your judges name, specific level explanations and rep counts, areas for tie-break times, final overall scores, etc.).
      • SAVE THIS PAPER, because you’ll need it to log your score in the Google Form!
  • Logging Your Final Score:
    • Each week, you’ll receive a link via e-mail (also, text & Chalk It Pro Announcements) to log your scores.
      • You MUST LOG your scores with this Google Form in order to receive a point for your team! Logging in Chalk It Pro WILL NOT get you a point!
    • YOU MAY ONLY LOG ONCE! If you log a second time it will not be counted.
      • Only your first submitted score will be counted – so, choose wisely when you decide to submit.
        • For people who are like, “Why would I have a second score?” – it’s because some people like to redo the workout and try to beat their first time for a better score!

SPIRIT OF 21.1 (INDIVIDUAL)

  • The link for the community vote, on which member will take home “Spirit of 21.1”, will go out Sunday afternoon.
